Everyone has heard the phrase “Figment of your imagination.” It’s an easy way to explain something that just doesn’t seem quite right or would rather not be dealt with. When you hear the phrase, it’s quite easy to connect the dots and conclude that this is where Epcot’s Figment got his name.  Well, this is true, but there is more to the story than that.

Disney Legend Tony Baxter is the Imagineer responsible for first coming up with the name for our lovable little dragon. Tony said he was inspired to use the name Figment while watching a 1980s American television show. Do you know what television show (and therefore what iconic 1980s television character) inspired the name Figment?

Take your best guess, then click on Figment to see the answer, and much more about this Epcot fan favorite!
