The Spire of Notre Dame

notre dame cathedral

All of the castles in the Disney Parks are inspired by famous castles in Europe and around the world. But other non-castle landmarks have contributed to the castle designs as well.

The famous Notre Dame Cathedral in France features a cathedral spire put into place by French Architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in 1859. This spire was unfortunately destroyed in a major fire on April 15, 2019, but a rebuild of the spire is part of the plans for restoration of the cathedral.

This spire, also called a fleche, from the French term meaning “arrow shaped” adorns one of the Disney castles.

Can you tell me which Disney castle features this famous spire? Take your best guess, then click on Mickey below to see if you are correct!

You could look up the answer online, but it wouldn’t be nearly as fun as listening to the Dizney Coast To Coast podcast episode 821.  Host Jeff DePaoli enjoys a discussion on The Hunchback of Notre Dame featuring guest Michael Arden. Jeff asks his guests a trivia question during each episode, and here you’ll learn the answer to this question!
