Mediterranean Europe is front and center at Walt Disney World’s newest resort, the Riviera. Classic and modern touches blend tastefully together to create elegant surroundings, while still maintaining that famous Disney magic. In fact, guests of all ages will enjoy a unique art collection honoring famous Disney Characters and icons – with a touch of European Riviera flair (and you can find some of these prints for purchase in the resort lobby).
Guests at the Riviera Resort can take the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as to two other resorts, including Art of Animation and Pop Century. Caribbean Beach Resort is just a short walk away. And of course, all other Walt Disney World parks and resorts are reachable via complimentary bus service.
The Riviera offers the widest range of sleeping accommodations of all Walt Disney World Resorts. The smallest rooms are the cozy and romantic Tower Studio rooms, which contain one pull-down bed and sleep up to two adults. The largest room available is the three bedroom grand villa, which sleeps up to twelve. And there’s a full range of other rooms in between. The planDisney PDF Pocket Guide offers many more details on the different room types.
One of Walt Disney World’s most popular restaurants is located at the Riviera Resort. Topolino’s Terrace offers Italian and French fine dining, as well as the immensely popular character meal – Breakfast a la Art with Mickey & Friends. Trivia tidbit – Topolino is Mickey Mouse’s name in Italy (it is translates to English as “little mouse”). Another popular hotspot located at the Riviera is Bar Riva, which offers a top notch bar service, an impressive lounge menu, and impeccable atmosphere.
Two pools are located on the resort grounds. The Riviera Pool is the larger one at the resort, and features a hot tub, waterslide, and “S’il Vous Play” – an interactive water play area for kids. Food is available at Bar Riva – located nearby to the pool. The Beau Soleil Pool also offers a hot tub.
Walkers and runners alike will enjoy the 1.2-mile trail that circles around the adjacent Barefoot Bay and travels by Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Other unique outdoor activities include a chess lawn and a Bocce court.
Disney’s Riviera Resort is the perfect combination of classy setting and Disney magic – all while being centrally located in Walt Disney World. This resort is well worth a look.
