Experience a touch of New England at this lakeside-style resort. Classic elegance and grace invites guests to relax in this delightful nautical-themed hotel.
Yacht Club Resort offers the typical standard rooms, with various views, all of which sleep up to five adults. In addition to the standard rooms, the Club Level offers two bedroom suites which sleep up to six adults, and several Signature Suites, which can sleep up to eight adults. The planDisney PDF Pocket Guide offers many more details on the different room types.
In the recent Pocket Guide preview for Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we told you how guests can walk to Magic Kingdom from the resort. At the Yacht Club, guests can walk to TWO parks – EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios! From there guests can take the Disney Skyliner to several other locations. Water taxis ferry guests from the Yacht Club to Disney Springs. And of course, buses will come by to take guests anywhere on property.
For guests who like the look and feel of the beach, Yacht Club is the resort to be. Stormalong Bay is one of the largest and most unique pool areas in all of Walt Disney World. The sand-bottomed pool – shared with guests of Disney’s Beach Club Resort – features one of the highest water slides in all of Walt Disney World. Guests in the mood to relax can float along the lazy river, or unwind in one of three whirlpool saunas. For kids, there is a zero-entry gently sloping entrance to the pool.
Aside from Stormalong Bay, Yacht and Beach Club resorts share access to three other smaller (and quieter) pools. The Yacht Club also offers a host of other water recreation options, including the ability to rent a boat or take a guided fishing trip.
This Deluxe Level resort has excellent dining options. Yachtsman Steakhouse is the resort’s signature fine dining establishment. Be mindful that there is a dress code for dining here. You can find the details on the restaurant’s page. Ale & Compass Restaurant is a little more casual, but still offers excellent American cuisine with top level service. The famous Beaches & Cream Soda Shop offers lunch and dinner, but it’s famous for its desserts, including the legendary Kitchen Sink!
Cape May Cafe offers good old fashioned family fare in a buffet setting. Character dining has historically been available at this location, though it is currently not offered as a casualty of the pandemic. Hopefully the character dining will return soon. Several lounges dot the Yacht Club, including Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar & Grill, located at Stormalong Bay Pool. Other quick-service locations and food court options are offered as well.
Guests who want to do a little sightseeing or running on their vacation will enjoy what the Yacht Club has to offer. Being located next to Beach Club, across Crescent Lake from Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and around the corner from Epcot and the Swan and Dolphin Resorts, there is lots of trail connectivity for eager guests to explore.
The Yacht Club offers two gift shops – The Market at Ale & Compass, and Beach Club Marketplace. Both offer resort-specific merchandise and small grocery items.
If you decide to stay at this classy resort, do yourself a favor and plan a resort day to enjoy all that this rich location has to offer!
