planDisney Resort Pocket Guide: All-Star Music Resort

January 20, 2022

Written by: Jim Smith

The first planDisney Pocket guide released for the All-Star resorts is for All-Star Music Resort, where Rock ‘n Roll is king! Many other genres are represented here as well, sure to satisfy almost any musical taste.

Did you know All-Star Music offers family suites, in addition to standard and preferred rooms? The suites include a bedroom with a queen-size bed; a living room area with two queen-sized pull-down beds, a kitchenette to stash your granola bars and juice boxes, and two bathrooms. This rivals Art of Animation Resort in the suites department.

There are no sit-down restaurants at the resort, but the Intermission Food Court does the trick for tired travelers at the beginning or end of a day in the parks. After all, if you are staying at the All-Star resorts, chances are you are mostly there to sleep and recharge.

If you’re like me and want to get in a couple of runs during your vacation, there are walking trails wind around and through the resort. The trails connect All-Star Music to the nearby All-Star Movies and All-Star Sports Resorts. Just know that the trails can be a bit crowded at times. Early morning is the best time to go.

If you want to cool off, All-Star Music’s Calypso Pool is a rockin’ pool area, shaped like a guitar. The Three Caballeros – Donald, Panchito, and Jose – shoot guests with water streams.

The Singing Spirits Pool Bar offers a good selection of alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages. A second, smaller Piano Pool is available for lower-key relaxing.

Maestro Mickey’s offers a limited selection of groceries, as well as plenty of resort-specific merchandise.

The All-Star resorts have a reputation for being Walt Disney World’s “lower-class” resorts. Yes, the All-Stars are value resorts, and they tend to attract larger (sometimes rowdier) group guests, but that doesn’t mean the resorts aren’t brimming with Disney magic.

planDisney Pocket Guides are especially helpful to guests who are considering staying at a resort they’ve never before experienced. The Pocket Guides take the form of 5-14 page PDF slides, which are easily printable and savable to smart devices. They offer efficient snapshots of the resort basics, including:

  • Transportation options
  • Room sizes
  • Food and beverage options and locations
  • Pools and recreation activities
  • Shopping
  • Tips from the planDisney panel
