Trivia question: What is the longest attraction in Magic Kingdom?
It’s not Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, TRON Lightcycle/Run, or any other rollercoaster attraction. It’s the Walt Disney World Railroad! This “Grand Circle Tour” carries guests on a 1.5-mile loop around Magic Kingdom. Within those 1.5 miles lie decades of history and inspiration from Walt Disney himself.
Walt loved trains, beginning when he was just a boy living in Marceline, Missouri. His romance with the rails deepened as he got older, culminating in the installation of the Disneyland Railroad. Over half a century after Walt passed, Disney Parks around the world honor him with their own versions of the Disney train.
In a nostalgia-filled episode of the Married to a Disney Addict podcast, I joined hosts (and friends) Krystle and Matt Woolley to discuss Walt’s history with trains, the introduction of the railroad in Disney Parks, and the iconic Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom. Walt’s lifelong love of trains hits Disney lovers in all the feels, so come join us for this fun discussion!
