So close, yet a world away. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is only a couple hours from Walt Disney World, but the old-fashioned charm of this Atlantic Coastal hideaway feels like it’s in a world of its own. The resort is snuggled in between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean, right in the heart of scenic Vero Beach, Florida.
All rooms at Vero Beach Resort range from Studios sleeping up to four adults, to two-bedroom villas sleeping up to nine adults. One other minor detail – EVERY room has a balcony! As with most Disney resort hotels, preferred rooms can offer guests better views and more convenient placement within the resort area. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort offers one primary dining option – Wind and Waves Grill. Here, guests can enjoy sit-down meals for breakfast and dinner. The nearby Wind and Waves Market offers lighter meals and on-the-go snacks. The Green Cabin Room lounge serves up small bites and refreshing drinks at select times of the day.
Outside the resort, Vero Beach is full of amazing dining venues, and guests can easily travel outside the resort for many more mouthwatering options. If you are looking for a half gallon of milk or a couple last-minute souvenirs to bring home, Island Grove Packing Company offers small groceries and resort-specific merchandise.
Guests looking to splash in some Florida sun need simply look east. The Atlantic Ocean awaits, and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort offers a private section of beach only for guests of the resort. If saltwater isn’t your thing, the Vero Beach Feature Pool gives all the freshwater feels. Kids (and kids-at-heart) will have a blast splashing down the Pirate’s Plunge water slide. The pool area also offers a hot tube and kids splash area. Poolside drinks are available at the Wind and Waves Bar.
Seagrape Banquet Hall is home to Goofy’s Beachside Character Breakfast and Pirate Night Dinner. As of this publishing, both experiences are temporarily unavailable, but they are anticipated to return at some point. Outside of swimming, Vero Beach is stocked with other activities to enjoy. Sea turtles are front and center on some of the protected beach areas, and guests can observe some of the seasonal nesting activities and conservation efforts.
Golf fans can enjoy time out on the links at one of many local courses. Back at the resort, Port Holes Miniature Golf offers nine holes of whimsical pirate golf for the entire family.
Several other sports activities are available at the resort, including tennis, basketball, fishing, bicycle rentals, and more. Ocean water sports rentals include jet skis, boogie boards, kayaks, and other water sports gear.
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort can serve as a wonderful warm-up to your Walt Disney World vacation, or would be equally valuable as a way to wind down from a busy vacation in the parks, while still enjoying that Disney magic.
