Here is the answer to our Spidey trivia question:

Question: What were Spider-Man’s original two colors, as conceived by creator Steve Ditko, which never made it to print?

Answer: Orange and Purple

According to Ditko, he wasn’t sure why his original colors of orange and purple were actually rejected. Ditko is said to have cited possible printing issues, with his intended colors not blending as well on cheap pulp paper. Of course, Marvel could have been looking for a direct reflection to DC’s Superman color scheme. Whatever the exact reason, Ditko had a Spidey-sense that orange and purple would have been popular.

Could you imagine Spider-Man cast in “iconic” orange and purple? That would give new meaning to “Runnin’ on Dunkin’.”
