Victorian splendor with a splash of fun – this is Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. The one-of-a-kind resort is fashioned after the 1800s heyday of the New York resort retreat of the same name. Drawing on the resort’s fame for horse racing and the finer things, Disney recreated Saratoga Springs in epic splendor, and tucked it between a gorgeous golf course and the iconic Lake Buena Vista. Come breeze up to this time-stamped Walt Disney World resort.
Saratoga Springs is located right across the lake from Disney Springs. A reasonable 15-minute walk will put resort guests right in the heart of the shopping and dining. Bus service can take guests to the parks and other locations on-property.
The variety of room types and sizes at this resort is really remarkable. Rooms range from as small as four-person studios all the way up to twelve-person, three-bedroom Grand Villas, with an assortment of sizes in between. The most unique guest rooms in the resort are the nine-person, three-bedroom Treehouse Villas.
These villas offer a unique circular layout on a second floor level, surrounded by woodsy views and nature’s soundtrack. To be honest, these villas have more in common with Fort Wilderness than the rest of Saratoga Springs. They are truly as remote as one can get at WDW. Having a car is pretty much essential to a happy stay in these villas, as Uber and Lyft vehicles are unable to get through the gated entrance when it is unstaffed. The closest shuttle bus stop is still a good distance from the villas. Trips to the Saratoga Springs hub will truly burn a few calories. If you are looking for a true getaway then the Treehouse Villas just may be the perfect match. The planDisney PDF Pocket Guide offers more details on the different room types.
Saratoga Springs offers several admirable dining options. The Turf Club Bar and Grill puts diners in the theme of classic horse racing, while surrounding them with views of golf greens and shimmering lake ripples.
The Artist’s Palette offers guests an assortment of classic American fare via walk-up stations and open seating. But who are we kidding? A quick walk to Disney Springs will offer almost any food type and price under the hot Florida sun!
Looking for a few sundries and some resort merchandise? The Artist’s Palette also fills that need. If you are looking to commemorate your epic 18-hole golf match, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Pro Shop has you covered in style.
Water is plentiful in Saratoga Springs, for those who wanna get wet. The resort boasts five – count ‘em – FIVE pools. Two of these are feature pools, including the High Rock Spring Pool and the Paddock Pool. Both boast long water slides, zero-depth entry areas, kiddie play zones, hot tubs, and nearby outdoor food and drinks. The High Rock Spring Pool hosts numerous family activities throughout the day. Three other leisure pools dot the remaining resort campus, including the Treehouse Villas, Congress Park, and Grandstand areas of the resort. These pools are intended for quieter use, and all include hot tub areas.
Saratoga Springs offers nighttime campfires and movies under the stars, along with fishing, bike rentals, tennis, and basketball. At Community Hall guests will find ping-pong, foosball, arts and crafts, video games, DVDs, board games and sports equipment rentals. Runners have a choice of two beautiful running trails, one of which is almost a mile and a half long.
Golfers rejoice! Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course is bursting with gorgeous greens and shimmering water hazards. This is a challenging course, rated four stars by Golf Digest magazine. Greens fees include GPS-equipped cart rentals, so take a load off and enjoy the ride.
After a day in the parks or 18 holes on the golf course, adults can relax at Senses – A Disney Spa. Get pampered while enjoying massage therapies, facial treatments, body therapies and wraps, and a wet relaxation space complete with a whirlpool, heated loungers and a steam room. While the adults relax, kids will have fun spending their parents’ money at Win, Place, or Show Arcade.
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa offers a quieter, more relaxing resort feel, while putting guests a stone’s throw from the lively entertainment at Disney Springs. Either way you lean, this resort is a win-win!
