One of Walt Disney’s most famous quotes, this sums up Walt’s personality perfectly. Walt’s laughter and smile still resonate to this day. Walt was fully engaged in imagining his City of the Future right up until he died. And Walt’s dreams live on in all of us.
Laughter is Timeless
When was the last time you had a good laugh? A really deep belly laugh, the kind that almost hurts a little bit from laughing so hard? How did it feel? It felt pretty good I bet. Laughter is a wonderful thing — that’s why we’ve all heard the saying “Laughter is the best medicine.” There is actually strong evidence that laughter can improve health and help fight disease. Whether we are five or fifty, the pursuit of laughter and joy in life is something that most everyone shares. It is a common thread of humanity. Find a reason to laugh – you’ll be happy you did.
Imagination Has No Age

Peter Pan is known as the boy who never grew up. Although Walt himself did not create Peter Pan, Walt lived his life in many ways just like him. Sure, Walt physically grew up. We all do. But Walt never forgot how to think like a child. How to wonder and explore and create and inspire. How to use his imagination. Imagination is a part of our mind, our brain. And like any other muscle in our body, if our brain (in this case the part that supports imagination) goes unused for too long, it starts to atrophy, to weaken. As many – if not most – adults grow older, we forget to a certain extent how to imagine. I myself feel like I have lost some of my imagination, and I am working on restoring and improving it. It’s not an easy thing to do, but so far the journey has been so rewarding! Walt used his imagination throughout his whole life, and he had just as strong an imagination as an adult (maybe moreso!) than he did as a child.
Dreams are Forever
Walt Disney never let his dreams die, nor did he simply wait for them to come true. Walt worked hard at his dreams, relentlessly pushing – often against the odds – to make them realities. If you feel really passionate about a dream, enough to do something about it and work hard at it, then it won’t simply be a passing fancy that comes by for a bit and then fades away. It will be something that sticks with you, and helps define you. Children dream, and as parents we support them and help them turn their dreams into realities. As an adult, it is never too late to follow your own dreams. Whether those dreams are personal or professional – they are yours and they are worth working for.
