Which legendary Disney Imagineer inspired the appearance for Tokyo DisneySea Tower of Terror’s Harrison Hightower III?

Answer: Joe Rohde!

It’s only a matter of time and formality until retired Imagineer Joe Rohde is crowned a Disney Legend. He was the mastermind behind Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Pandora – World of Avatar, and Aulani, among many other Disney parks credits.

Being an avid world traveler with a rugged visage to match, Rohde was asked to model for the character Harrison Hightower III in Tokyo’s attraction, and ended up the face of the attraction (in fact, there are many of Joe Rohde’s faces in – and on – the attraction).

Check out the Tower of Terror episode of the Disney+ series Behind the Attraction to learn more of Joe’s involvement with the Tower of Terror, including the retheming of the California version to Guardians if the Galaxy.
