If you love Thanksgiving, then there’s a good chance you also love the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This American institution has been running strong since 1924. For many millions (myself included), the parade is a part of every Thanksgiving morning. From the floats and balloons, to the street performances, to the arrival of Santa Claus, the parade feels like the official gateway to Christmas.
Disney is no stranger to the Macy’s Parade. Many Disney characters have floated through the skies of Manhattan over the years. Others have rolled down the streets. Check them all out here in my annually-updated article “The Air Up There! A History of Disney in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – with 2024 Additions!”
But wait, there’s more!
In a festive new episode of the Married to a Disney Addict podcast, I joined hosts (and friends) Matt and Krystle Woolley to discuss Disney’s history with the parade, from the earliest days to the newest balloons. Come listen with us as we look at Disney’s history with this iconic American tradition, as well as get a sneak peek at this year’s new additions to the parade.

Friends, whether you celebrate Thanksgiving here in the U.S., or get into the spirit of thankfulness elsewhere around the world, I wish you a happy and healthy weekend!
