The Legend of Sleepy Hollow – the 1949 animated Disney film featuring Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman – snuck up on me as one of the most charming holiday specials I’d never seen before. Until last year (and every year from now on).

Most of the film chronicles Ichabod’s social escapades in a small New York town in the late 1700s. Throughout most of the film, Ichabod’s primary foe is the town strongman, Brom Bones. It’s only in the last few minutes that we meet the villain who has gone on to become one of the greatest in the Disney Parks. While the film is not fully conclusive, the story leads us to believe Ichabod met his demise at the hands of the Headless Horseman. (You’ll have to watch for yourself to draw your own conclusion!)

Throughout the film, there is very little direct dialogue between any of the characters. Instead, the film is narrated by one of the greatest singers in American music history.

For this trivia question: Who narrated The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (and sang much of it too)?

Take your best guess, then click on Mickey to see the answer (it’s part of a who’s who of Disney Parks villains)!
