Nick Fury is the heart and soul of S.H.I.E.L.D., and founder of the Avengers Initiative. He has appeared in over half of the 23 Marvel Cinematic Universe films to date. In every MCU film, Fury has been played with an abrasive charm by the world’s highest grossing actor, Samuel L. Jackson.
It’s hard to picture Fury looking like anything other than Samuel Jackson in a black trench coat, but believe it or not, someone else played the role of Nick Fury in a Marvel production before Jackson.
