Milton Quon – one of the last living animators from Disney’s golden age of animation in the 1940s – died on June 18, 2019 at age 105.
Quon was one of the first Chinese American employees at the Walt Disney studios. He assisted with animation on the “Fantasia” sequences “Waltz of the Flowers” and “The Arabian Dance”, and he worked as first assistant animator on “Dumbo.”

Aside from animating, Quon headed Disney’s publicity department for three years, and promoted the films “Song of the South” and “Make Mine Music.”
Quon also had a brief movie role in the 1994 film “Speed”, as what he jokingly calls “the token Asian on the bus.”
